Thursday

I started the day at 9 with Paul Lucker, who I had been to Breda with for the website. We sat together for an hour and we put some more of the texts on the website. He was lucky I was there, because he forgot how to do some things haha. Around 10 Paul brought me to Rieneke. As you may guess by the name, she is Dutch. But she was so used to speaking English that she couldn't even manage to switch to Dutch. Which is of course no big deal, because I sometimes have the same problem. Rieneke is at the merchandising department and she is responsible for category three. This category consists of all the small stuff you need on you desk: Pens, pencils, penholders, stickynotes, etc. We mainly talked about pens and she told me the story about the factory in China, which you can read in the report 'About Office Depot'. Rieneke thinks about the kind of pen a customer wants. I found it interesting to see that there is so much work and effort behind one simple pen. She gave me a few pens of their fanciest brand: Foray. I found out that there are pens that go with an eraser. A pen eraser. I never knew that something like that existed. It's called the frixion pen and it seemed very handy to me. I said to my dad that I'd like some of those haha.
After I sat with Rieneke it was lunch time, so I went to IT to find Dinie and Claudia because we would lunch together. After lunch, which is by the way always delicious because there is just a big restaurant there, I went to Anita. She was an Australian and she told me all about her job. She was responsible for the product information on the website of ink & toner, so there wasn't really much to tell and she didn't want to bore me so we spent the rest of the hour chatting. She encouraged me to study abroad and she was the only person I met this entire week, who actually knew what IB is. She gave me a handout with transition words and a link, which might come in handy when writing essays.
At 2, I went back to IT and waited for my dad. He had to be home early today so I had to go with him because he is my ride home. When I came home, my mom ordered me to clean my room so I worked the rest of the day anyway (and I listened to English music!) haha.

Unfortunately, this was my last day already. There wasn't anything arranged yet for tomorrow and we can't seem to find anyone who has some for me. it's not that big of a deal because I've seen the entire company already in 4 days. Quite tiring. Moreover, I have a meeting with the principle of a primary school in Asten tomorrow at 3. I'm going to spend the rest of my internship there. I'll probably miss one or two hours of school everyweek because I'm going to be teaching English there. Or at least I hope so. The principle and I will talk some things through tomorrow and I am going to have to talk with some teachers :)
